This was purchased as a gift for my daughter (19) who loves this musical. It was received in perfect shape, and she loved it. The music is easy to play without being an "easy" version.
Before I purchased this item, I was continually looking for a list of all the songs included but never found one. Here it is.Mama Who Bore MeAll That's KnownThe B**** of LivingMy JunkTouch MeThe Word of Your BodyThe Dark I Know WellAnd Then There Were NoneThe Mirror-Blue NightI BelieveDon't Do Sadness/Blue WindThe Guilty OnesLeft BehindTotally F*****WhisperingThose You've KnownThe Song of Purple SummmerThe book does not include the Mama Who Bore Me reprise, nor reprise of The Word of Your Body.Songs are arranged for piano, guitar, and vocals, including the harmonies heard on the Original Cast Recording.Includes various production photos.A good investment for any Spring Awakening Fan.
This songbook is one of the better ones I have purchased. The musical arrangements are pretty good but are not note-for-note in some songs. The vocal arrangements are true to the recording. It is wonderful to have all of the harmony parts for a change. I am sure this was done to allow solo piano arrangements for guitar oriented songs. They only thing I was disappointed in was the omission of Mama Who Bore Me(Reprise).
What a shame. After months of waiting for this music book to be released, I was disappointed to discover that the piano arrangements are not really up to scratch.Spring Awakening is one of the best shows I have seen recently and this was maining due to Sheik's truely wonderful score. Why then, after almost a year of wait, did the publishers of this book allow below par arrangements for the piano.Overall, this book still deserves a place in your music collection. The songs are very well written and, once you get a feel for it, you can busk your way through each time.
Also there were opening sections of songs that were missing which was sad. Wonderful songs that weren't too hard to play, but not elementary music. There were a couple of songs that were missing. Otherwise it was wonderful and I loved the pictures and the lyrics. Just an amazing musical in general.
